In regards to my photos, I don't modify them or add any extra information or tags so they are what they are and no worries as to losing any extra info. But, it sounds like copying them to an external drive would be the way to go and just use the CD/DVD's as a convenient redundant archive. Which brings another question to mind. What about self-created audio CD/DVDs? I have a very extensive Grateful Dead audio collection that I've been putting to CD/DVD over the years. Same issues as with photo CD's? As laptops have died over the years I've scavenged the small HD's, reformatted them, and placed them in USB enclosures to use as external storage devices. Sounds like I should dig them out and transfer my photo CD's to them. The Export feature of Photos seems to work very well when creating and exporting exact copies of what is sitting in Photos (unmodified originals as imported from my camera). -- Deja Moo: I've seen this bullshit before.
