If that backup hasn't been replaced, you can copy it to the new laptop and then use it to restore the iPad from backup. The easiest way to locate the backup on the old computer is: 1. Run iTunes. 2. Go into Preferences (in the bold iTunes menu). 3. Click on the Devices category. 4. Locate the backup you want. Make a note of its date/time. 5. Control-click or right click on it and choose Show in Finder. This will reveal a folder called Backups, with one or more subfolders with non-obvious names containing lots of alphanumeric characters. The one which is highlighted is the backup you want. That highlighted folder (with its complex name) needs to be copied to the new computer. I suggest copying that folder to the desktop on the new computer, then moving it to the right place. Before moving the folder, if iTunes is running on the new computer, quit it. The location to which the folder needs to be copied for recent iTunes and OS X versions is: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup That's the Library folder inside your home folder: in recent OS X versions you can get to it in Finder by holding down the Option key, clicking on the Go menu and choosing Library. Then go into the Application Support subfolder, then into MobileSync, then into Backup. Once you are in the Backup folder, you can drag the copy of the backup from the desktop. After the backup is in the right place, run iTunes again, connect the iPad and tell iTunes to do a restore, this time picking the copied backup from the list (identified by its date/time). -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz

I've removed them as they have nothing to do with fixing your iPad backup problem. Second, please learn to trim unneeded quotage. You've got umpteen layers of wasted space here. As near as I can tell from that mass of text, the attributions aren't even all correct. Third, you said you restored the iPad from your backups, but now you say that Pages is *not* the same version but a newer one that you don't like. If that's the case, then obviously you didn't restore from your backups (which people have been pointing out to you for two days now). It sounds like you simply went into your purchase history on Apple's site and got the latest versions of all the apps you had previously bought. No wonder you aren't seeing any of your own data.
