I'm not really interested in Disk Warrior. And if I did purchase it, I likely wouldn't bother reading it either. That said, looking at it might influence my purchasing decision if I ever change my mind. : ) -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. When I switched to OSX I still thought I had to have it and paid a big chunk of change for version 3.0.3 to some guy on eBay. It's the latest DW I have, and I've rarely used it. I've never had it repair anything that booting up with the install disk and running Disk Utility couldn't fix (and that's certainly a less complicated solution than hassling with DW).

Apparently he's not very interested in your sale, eh? Having worked in the software development field for many years, there's little doubt in my mind that they do, in fact, have a PDF of the manual available that they could send you. You would expect a salesman to know that much. And making you do the work of contacting technical support is just lazy. That would leave a bad taste in my mouth as well, and make me wonder if a competitor might appreciate my dollars more. ; ) Then again, I'm much more likely to spend those dollars purchasing backup hardware / software so that I have little or no need for repair utilities! : ) -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. And here's tech support's terse response in its entirety: "There is no copy of the manual available outside of purchasing the software." Well, thanks a lot, guys! My point of reading the new manual is to know exactly what they're doing and how. Of course, given their helpfulness so far, they probably don't tell you. Doesn't help me sell new copies to clients. And I agree that good backups on reliable hardware are essential, but I have used past versions of DW to recover essential data which was either not backed up, poorly backed up, or munged in some other way where running DW was infinitely easier, quicker, and cheaper than full recovery. Thanks to all who responded. I do have the DW4 manual, but again, that doesn't detail what's new and superior in DW5.
