Lost Mail Function

Subject	Lost Mail Function

I've just noticed that the Contacts icon has been taken away from mail. 
 Clicking on this allowed you to hughlight any number of entries in 
your contacts and have them included as recipients for  mail.  Is there 
any way to get this back or is it gone forever?  Are there any third 
part email programs that support this feature?
