The rhetorical question that won't be answered is: other than when one isn't using it, what better time is there is to charge one's phone? Of course the Engineering derivative from here is the power requirement: for a duty cycle of an overnight (even a shortened ~6 hour one), how much source wattage is satisfactory to meet the criteria? A: 5W. In simple terms, Energy = Power * time = (5W * 6h) = 30Wh supplied iPhone batteries are a nominal 4V, so 30Wh/4V (* 1000) = 7500mAh, less efficiency losses, of course. The iPhone 16 Pro Max reportedly has a 4,685mAh battery, so this supply capability accomodates a time safety buffer and/or efficiency losses of (7500/4685) = 1.6 = 60% margin. For example, for just a 5hr sleep, its 25/4 => 6250/4685 => 1.33 -hh
