I haven't looked at ICs since I retired from electronics design 10 
years ago, but, rather than use a USB2 DAC, (and with the USB2 spec 
being such a hash and mis-match) are there not any USB3 DAC ICs?

USB3 not only has the data rate suitable for modern computers, but is, 
as I understand it,  a much cleaner implementation of USB with far 
less of all the exceptions and ifs that USB2 suffers so badly from.

So, why implement it in USB2 when everyone else is moving over to 
USB3...  Or Lightspeed?
