SOME saw it even way back then, Of course we only remember the guessers who guessed it kind-of right .... For every Kipling there were a dozen+ others with a different take/vision. Anyway, the Brit post-WW1 strategy made it all WORSE. Well, 'worse' than it had been in the preceeding short period ....... History, culture, religions ... the middle-east has been a CLUSTER-FUCK for thousands of years. NOT gonna change much.

When Saudi Arabia threatened to nationalize the Arabian American Oil company (Aramco) the company agreed to a 50/50 split. Over the years Aramco has become Saudi owned with minimal friction. Iran tried to negotiate a similar split but the Anglo Iranian Oil Company was having none of it. What about the Israel's government and military and intelligence plans to let the attack happen, either out of stupidity, or of wanting the war to start? It has been known for years that Israel had shunned internally reports of an upcoming attack, including, IIRC, intel with the actual plans for October 7. If I were a resident or citizen of the State of Israel, I'd be quite angry about that, and I'd want the current government replaced by somebody who didn't jeopardize security and defense owing to political ideology... >> And allowed the latent anti-semitism in the Left to surface. That part was written just because there's been a recent news bit about another nation having informed Netanyahu days before the attack, and this is not the incident I'm talking of. I'm talking of people having reported intel to their reports within intelligence organisations, or was it in the IDF, only to have their warnings dismissed, besides at least one situation where they actually got hands in copies of the plans (dismissed, IIRC, because somebody thought Hamas was not capable of doing something like what was described on the plans). This really reeks of the self-confidence that comes with extremist views held by fascists - if such people are in power, of course they'd say "no way Hamas can do something like that, they're too stoopid". It's scary if all the sane people have been replaced like this. -- Nuno Silva

That the CIA knew in advance, that the CIA planned it, that Israel planned it, that there was a 'controlled explosion', that he planes were faked etc etc. Because the alternative, that Israel is in fact fighting something so barbarous, so evil and so uncivilised that it destroys all their preconceptions about how Gazans are merely 'oppressed' but basically nice, people It reeks of the self confidence of the Left actually Putin wouldn't be so stupid. Hamas wouldn't be so stupid Donald Trump wouldn't be so stupid. Hamas are not that stupid, They wanted to set the Islamic diaspora on fire, and they are succeeding, aided and abetted by the left Wokery. This isn't about territory, This is about ideology and the creation of the New Caliphate. The Islamic state of Europe. Finally people have realised that Putin, Hamas, Trump and Iran are not playing by the rules of civilised compassionate Liberals. They are all throwbacks to a more violent age. One where killing everybody that is a threat to you is logical and completely justified. And they have no cpmpunction about lying through their back teeth breaking every agreement when it suits them and generally behaving like the megalomaniacs they actually are. Perhaps Netanyahu has decided that if those are the rules, Israel can play that game too. People create narratives to fit their prejudices, mostly. And the current fashionable narrative among the wokery is to blame Jews and Israel. And exonerate Iran sponsored Hamas. *shrug*. I dont do morality. I do [enlightened] self interest. -- “It is hard to imagine a more stupid decision or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.” Thomas Sowell

All I'm hearing are the usual Vast Konspiracies. Frankly I don't think anybody was planning it all out or even thinking much ahead - as typical. There are fanatic nut-cases on all sides there. Opportunities were seen, things were done, then everyone REACTED. The cool, plotting, super-villains are mostly in FILMS. Gaggles of Real People ... you get something closer to chaos theory in action.

They had to dig tunnels and they had to take control of IDF facilities, to name two things. The latter, as you may imagine, really shouldn't be easy in a military facility in general, let alone in a contentious zone. And I don't know about 9/11, but for October 7, this wasn't merely small tidbits suggesting an attack. Israeli intelligence had the actual plan, or as they're calling here, "blueprint": <https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/30/world/middleeast/israel-hamas-attack-intelligence.html> <https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/02/world/middleeast/israel-hamas-attack-intelligence.html> (Uh, almost the same address, but different dates; I do think I'm copying the correct addresses for two separate articles.) -- Nuno Silva
