    I usesd your above mentioned disk and it worked. All seems to be 
corrected. And the system reported a corrected error in clokck hardware 
concerning incorrect time. I'm not quite sure what that was about.

    I tried your dd instructions they didn't work at all. I eliminated my 
partition which I didn't want to do. And I used my XP burning software. Well 
what matters now I guess is that all's well.
