I should have provided more information. I run TL2012 from CTAN. When
I found out that it conflicted with my old debian installation of tl
2009, I removed it. But for some reason, my system still thought it was
installed but unconfigured. I removed it with aptitude. TL2011 works
fine, and I was able to install the lshw.
