What is the output of the command run as root
lshw -C disk
I don't have lshw installed because apptitude thinks my texlive2011 is
not configured and so all aptitude installations are blocked. My TL2011
works fine and I hesitate to reinstall it.
Sorry, I'm runing Debian Squeeze, not Etch.
