#318455 — A challenge for the "advocates"

Would love to see if the "advocates" are capable of speaking about
technology. Elsewhere I noted, about choice, that my view is desktop Linux
offers little of it: you have a bunch of distros all tied to the same
ecosystem that offers very little choice. I can show workflows and products
which demonstrate this:

On Linux the way I think most would do it is save the file as PDF to their
recipes folder, then dig down to it and open it (or save and open it on
their desktop and move it to their recipes folder later), then edit it, then
save it, then attach it to an email.

There are PDF editors which do have something akin to the "Share" menu which
is common on OS X, even if not as standardized, so that might give a way to
streamline things a bit more than adding an attachment by digging down again
(not that it would be the end of the world even if you had to... just noting
it is not as streamlined).

As far as content I doubt anyone in COLA could replicate on Linux, look what
I did to show *another* point... was not even made to show off screencasting
skills:

In that video I:
* Replace the mouse cursor in post production to ease following the action
  (whole video)
* Highlight a window (from about 10-20 seconds). It stays highlighted
  even as I resize and move it.
* Zoom in on the area around the mouse and dim the rest of the screen
  (at about 45 seconds, and again later)
* Highlight and zoom in on a rectangle to show the "action" there
  (at about 1:15)

Of people in COLA, Owl has shown the greatest skill at screen recording on
Linux. His videos, as beneficial as they are (and I do not mean to put them
down in any way) are less crisp (could be the site he uses?) but also do not
include any such features. These things are trivial on OS X and, as far as I
know, completely beyond the capability of any program the "advocates" use on
Linux (at least not without a *lot* of work).

Prediction: the herd will deny this. Of *course* they could show Linux doing
as smooth of a workflow for the recipe. Of *course* they could show a video
where they do the things I list. But they will not because blame Snit,
everyone is Snit, Snit tells unquotable lies, wah wah wah. It really is
likely to be the best I expect from *any* of the "advocates".

c) word-twisting beyond comprehension, including referring to serious

Lying dumbass.  I used multipe VMs because the task switched to one
involving email, and I needed a way to demonstrated that while maintaining
anonymity; so I took the work from my host system to a virtual network.

LOL! No, dude. You have the circular logic part right but the trolling skills part is backwards. Excellent trolling is when a troll writes one post and gets many replies. Snit writes many posts and gets (relatively) few in return... and many (most?) of those are *about* him. There's no question that usenet is, for him, exactly what he said it is over a decade ago, a distraction (a form of therapy, apparently) for his mental issues with panic attacks and such. As he posts pretty much around the clock and has for well over a decade, I don't think anyone could reasonably argue that his method is a healthy outlet for dealing with his condition. Then again, there might be other issues at play here so maybe it's a good thing he's kept away from the public.

But he writes tons... he put up ~1500 last month just under the Snit handle in COLA alone. I'll bet his  'trolling ratio' isn't really all that good. He's clearly not working, I think usenet is unquestionably a distraction from his illnesses or even the mere though of having to deal with everyday life... which he obviously isn't doing much of, either.

Even though it starts out with a number of lies (like most of his crap does), that thread is actually pretty funny because it shows that everyone is on to Snit's BS in a big way by that point. There was a CSMA poster named Wally that used to slam Snit often; in this thread, after reading Snit's absolutely ridiculous claim...
