Linux suffers from one fundamental flaw and that is too many cooks spoil 
the stew.
Linux is like a car where you start out with a solid frame (the kernel) 
and then you zip tie a 1000 other parts to the frame (everything else 
Linux, DE, applications etc)  without regard to 
what the other 10,000 people working on the car are doing.

What you end up with a disjointed mess with no consistency.
That's Linux.
