How do you listen to youtube documentaries with the display off?

I have both iOS and Android and my need is very simple:
GOAL: Each night, I lull myself to sleep by listening to youtube
documentaries with the display blanked (preferably offline).

On both Android and iOS, you can't just open the documentary in the youtube
app, because the youtube app is resrictive in that it won't allow you to
blank the screen and still listen to the audio.

However, on Android, it's still trivially simple to listen to the youtube
documentaries with the screen off, either by pointing a free web browser to
youtube.com and then playing the video with the screen turned off, or by
downloading the videos or extracting the audio from the videos, and playing
them offline.

For example, here is a set of stacked up youtube documentaries (in m4a
audio format) which were easily extracted off youtube using the Android
"NewPipe" freeware (package name = org.schabi.newpipe).
http://i67.tinypic.com/2a8gfls.jpg

So, on Android, it's trivial to play any youtube audio file (whether online
or offline) with the display turned off using commonly available freeware.

Even though it's trivial on Android already, I ask the Android users if
they know of a *better* way than the two ways proposed above that I've
used.

Meanwhile, on iOS, I still haven't yet been successful in performing this
simple task.

The first minor hurdle is that, on iOS, the Safari browser *refuses* to
open a youtube URL if the youtube app exists! Huh? That's crazy, so, maybe
I made a mistake - so the first question is how do you open a youtube URL
in Safari when you also have the Youtube app installed?

Anyway, the restrictions Apple puts on Safari don't exist with the other
browsers, e.g., Dolphin, Mercury, & Chrome have no problem opening a
youtube video even if the youtube app exists.

Even so, I could still trick the restrictive Safari into opening a youtube
video by deleting the youtube app, and then Safari does play the youtube
video.

But while playing the video and then blanking the display is easy on
Android, when you blank the display on iOS, the video stops playing,
whether you're in Safari, Mercury, Dolphin, or Chrome.

So, as usual, the limitations in iOS make even simple things harder.

Due to those arbitrary iOS limitations, I'm apparently forced to extract
the one and two-hour-long audio from the youtube documentaries on iOS.

Googling for how to extract the audio from a long youtube documentary, it
seems that most of the tools out there are web based and designed for short
videos, not one and two-hour long videos.

So, because of restrictions, the question morphs, only out of necessity...
FROM: How do you play youtube audio with the display blanked?
TO: How do you extract large audio files from youtube on iOS?

The goal is:
Listening to youtube documentaries offline with the screen off at night

QUESTION FOR ANDROID USERS:
Do you know of a better way to accomplish the task?

QUESTION FOR IOS USERS:
What is the best iOS freeware to extract very long audio from youtube?

that's because you're inept.

I'm not like you - only interested in playing games.
I'm trying to get something done on iOS that is trivial to do on Android.

You're a typical iOS user in that you never back up what you say until
someone forces you (usually with numerous entreaties) to back up your
purposefully cryptic statements, and even then, almost all the time, we
find out that you don't know what you're talking about.

Almost always, you're dead wrong, because you can only think *inside* the
Apple box - and you can *never* think outside the walled garden.

But, once out of twenty or thirty times, you typical iOS users actually
know how to do something useful (without requiring the user to purchase an
Apple computer or to install hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of
megabytes of Apple bloatware).

Most of the time, the iOS user is *dead* without the iCloud, so, it will be
interesting to see how you propose to solve this problem without requiring
tremendous support from software accounts that I don't have.

But, maybe, maybe for once in your lifetime, you actually are telling the
truth that you know how to do the stated task.

Therefore ... I'll take your bait, since I just want to solve the problem
so that iOS can do what Android does trivially using either the free
Firefox browser or the free NewPipe audio/video extractor.

Knowing you extremely well, it's almost certain you haven't thought of
anything I haven't already thought of, so, what you're most likely trying
to be cryptic about is that you feel there must be freeware existent that
extracts hour-long and two-hour-long youtube videos to audio files.

I agree with you - so all I'm asking is for the *name* of that freeware
that converts hour-long and two-hour long youtube videos to offline audio
files.

What is the freeware that you suggests for iOS to extract long video to
offline audio?

you're not trying *at* *all*.

you instantly give up then rant about how ios won't let you do it.

nonsense.

i do know how to do the stated task and did so moments after reading
your idiotic post.

i successfully completed said task in roughly a minute, much of which
was deciding on which youtube video to use.

there's no need to extract the audio to do what you describe, although
that is an option if you later want the extracted audio.

As always, you typical iOS users are only interested in playing games.
I'm still interested in knowing your proposed solution.

The game you play is usually two excruciating steps:
1. First, you *claim* you do it easily
2. Then we have to beg you in many ways to *reveal* the solution
3. Usually, we find that your solution doesn't fit the constraints

Even so, I'll *play* your silly game... (you iOS users sure do know how to
play games, I'll grant you that).

I'm pretty sure you can't think of anything I haven't already thought of,
so, the solution you "say" you implemented for playing hour-long and
two-hour long youtube audio with the display blanked almost assuredly
involves the use of a download of the video file (either via a conversion
web site or an installed freeware app).

Either way is fine by me if it can handle long documentaries.

Here are my two test files:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfRq-JeUCSM (WWII documentary)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9XzLzMAQ-Q (History of the World)

It is a simple tap-tap-done process to download the audio in NewPipe:
http://i.cubeupload.com/ybEXS1.jpg

Here is a screenshot of the first of those, in Android "NewPipe".
http://i.cubeupload.com/G2DcHM.jpg

Tapping the "download" icon brings up the choice of video or audio:
http://i.cubeupload.com/fBB7vI.jpg

Once I tap that icon, I can kill NewPipe as the download occurs in the
background (which is the only way such a large file should download):
http://i.cubeupload.com/KBPgcG.jpg

The audio is downloaded directly to my sd card in the directory:
 /extSdCard/data/audio/documentary/{name of documentary}.m4a
http://i.cubeupload.com/CR6xjY.jpg

Like all decent apps, I can easily download *multiple* large audio files:
http://i.cubeupload.com/rbVTGb.jpg

It would be supremely wasteful to download the video so I select audio:
http://i.cubeupload.com/n9UwJF.jpg

Multiple downloads can proceed in the background simultaneously:
http://i.cubeupload.com/2Nv1Ys.jpg

Since it's so easy to download just the audio for multiple large youtube
documentaries on Android (tap, tap, done), I'd be curious how easy that
same task is on iOS to play long documentaries with the screen off.

How exactly do you suggest I play just the audio on iOS with the screen off
for those two test documentaries above?

it doesn't.

there is no limit to its length unless you're on battery, in which case
it's the battery that's the limiting factor. ipads get exceptionally
good battery run time, certainly longer than a single video, but if
that's an issue, simply plug it in and there is no limit at all.

launch safari, enter in url, tap play if it doesn't autoplay, press
sleep/wake button and wait for it to pause, press home button to
display the player, tap play, shut cover.

done.

not a single third party app is needed, free or paid.

in other words, android is what's restrictive because you needed third
party apps and numerous steps to accomplish the simplest of tasks.

Fist off, Safari won't even *open* a youtube URL until you learn the highly
convoluted set of circus hoops you're forced to perform just to get Safari
to play a Youtube video in the first place.

Here's the number one method documented just to get Safari to do what every
other browser already does when provided a youtube URL!

1-Press and hold the YouTube link
2-Wait until you see a pop-up message asking you to copy.
3-Select ´Copy¡ to copy the link.
4-Launch a new Safari Tab.
5-Paste the URL into the address bar.
6-Now you need to replace replace ´www¡ with ´m
(https://www.youtube.com/watch? >> https://m.youtube.com/watch?).
7-Then tap Go.

That's crazy - but that's the #1 method suggested here:
http://appletoolbox.com/2015/10/how-to-open-youtube-links-in-safari-instead-of-the-youtube-app-in-ios/

If you think having to perform more than a half-dozen steps just to get iOS
Safari to play a youtube video is crazy, then wait until you see their
other suggestions for getting iOS to simply play a Youtube video!

My iPad doesn't have a case but what you're suggesting, effectively, is to
put a pillow over the iPad to shut the screen off.

Only an iOS afficianado would suggest that the way to turn off an iPad
screen is to cover it with an opaque pillow.

Meanwhile, on Android, it's tap tap done.

> not a single third party app is needed, free or paid.
> in other words, android is what's restrictive because you needed third

You so desperately want Android to come out as more restrictive than iOS
that you completely misread *everything* in the OP.

What part about playing the video in Firefox and then just turning off the
Android screen did you miss?

Tap tap done.

If that simple solution would just work in iOS, this thread would never
have been opened. But on iOS, just the *first* step of playing the video
requires over a half-dozen steps.

And even then, on iOS, you have to put a pillow over the iPad in order to
make the screen turn off while still playing the video!

Classic.

Nope, put the ipad face down. Even you should be able to
manage to work out how to do that if someone was actually
stupid enough to make you a youtube video showing you
how to do that.

as usual, wrong.

nearly all covers have magnets which turns *off* the screen on closing
the cover.

lifting the cover causes the screen to come back on and there's even a
setting for it to unlock:
pg>

and if you don't have a cover, just press the sleep button again.

Get a clue and use chrome or firefox. Once whatever you want to listen to
has started, press the power button on the idevice to turn the screen off,
hear the audio stop, press the power button again, see the progress screen
again, tap the play triangle to get just the audio playing again, press the
power button again to blank the screen again. Listen for as long as you
like with the screen off.

Or add the addon for the youtube app that keeps playing whatever
you choose to listen to on youtube after you have blanked the screen
with the power button on the idevice.

On Android, *all* the browsers work fine: tap tap done.
On iOS, it doesn't matter what browser is used: the screen stays on.

See!
I knew you were *smarter* than most of the rest of them!

You found the trick!
Thanks!

The trick, essentially, is to turn the screen off *three* times, and on
that *third* time, the screen actually *stays* off!

Who knew!

To summarize, on Android, you just play the youtube video on any browser
and simply turn off the screen once.

On iOS, you have to know *not* to ever use Safari, and to use Chrome, and
if you do use Chrome, you follow this non-intuitive sequence below which
entails turning the screen off *three times*!

1. Enter the youtube URL into Chrome, e.g.,
   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfRq-JeUCSM (WWII documentary)
   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9XzLzMAQ-Q (History of the World)
2. Press the side button the first time, to turn off the screen
3. This blanks the screen but it also turns off the audio
4. Don't be discouraged - Press the side button again, a second time
5. Now you get a play arrow but no sound
6. Press the play arrow to get the video sound to play
7. This plays the video but leaves the screen still on
8. Press the side button a third time to shut off the screen yet again
9. This third time you turn off the screen is a charm!

Woo hoo!
Thank you for finding the non-intuitive trick to turn the iOS screen off!

nospam knew that too. The only problem with his approach
is that he used that steaming turd Safari which is to clever
for its own good and when you have the youtube app
installed, it offers to hand the url to the youtube app
and that doesn’t allow the screen to be turned off
while still playing the video unless you add the
youtube app addon.

I didn’t know either, I tried it when you asked how to do it on iOS.

And on iOS you can do that with the youtube app once you
add the addon.

The youtube app addon is much simpler to use, just the one tap of the
power button turns the screen off and leaves the video playing.

Wrong. This is easily done with Safari too :-)

I agree with you that getting Safari to do what Chrome did is far more
problematic in that Safari made everything in this quest far harder than
did all the other browsers.

Apparently, we can, with effort, also get Safari to work, but if you add up
the steps to both turn off the screen and get Safari to play a youtube URL,
we're well over a dozen distinct steps (which is crazy), so, it's just not
worth using Safari.

I thank you very much for trying it because I had googled and didn't find
it and I tried shutting the screen but I didn't realize that I had to shut
the screen three times (with steps in between).

So, again, I extend a heartfelt thanks to you for figuring out how to get
iOS to play a youtube audio with the screen blanked.

I went to sleep last night with the history of the world playing in my ear,
thanks to you!

Since I don't know *which* addon, and since testing a dozen addons is
additional effort (just to turn the screen off), I'm gonna stick with the
shut-it-off-three times method.

But others can test out all the available youtube addons so that one can be
found that works. I'm not against that.

I'm sure - but which addon is it?

Testing all the youtube addons on both Android & iOS is a PITA when we
already have a working solution, thanks to you!

Thanks.

Except that it would be more convenient to use the youtube app addon.
I couldn’t find it using google either, presumably its relatively new and
the author hasn’t got around to putting up a web site etc on it yet.

I'll keep trying just hitting the power button when the youtube app
is playing and then hitting the home button again and see if it pops
up again. That’s how I saw it the first time. And will accept the offer
to try it this time.

Yeah, absolutely classic example of unintended consequences
of trying to do something useful. It does make sense to offer
to give the url to the installed youtube app when Safari can
see a youtube url, but it would be better to allow you to
say no thanks and then behave just like no offer was made.

Time will tell presumably. It did emphasise allowing youtube

For the record, I'm as balanced as anyone can get, since I can see both
sides of every argument.

Like you, I have a strong opinion, but that strong opinion is always based
upon facts, so, for you to term them lies simply means you don't like the
facts as I see them.

I may be wrong, of course, on my facts (but I rarely am, simply because
they *are* facts); but sometimes I'm wrong since I can't and don't test
every single scenario out there - and when it comes to adding bloatware to
computers - I'm out of my league since you guys are very good at adding
iTunes and other software to your computers so that they work better with
your mobile devices.

Me? I just use the native software on the windows and linux computers, so,
I know nothing of the computer-based tools you so often suggest. While I
have used iTunes (and I hate it with a passion), I have less experience
with cloud accounts which you guys espouse so frequently.

As for trolling, you're a bona-fide fool if you think I troll.
I have proven time and time again that I let you guys have the last word
and I very often respond to taunts with a simple smiley just to let you
know, by way of courtesy that I've read it.

If you actually do think I troll, then please just plonk me, since I don't
play that game and never will.

>> Certainly the Jolly Troll the Jamie are far (far) below
>> you in terms of knowledge and they're basically at the

>
> They can't stand your tolling and lies.

You are wrong on both counts.
a. I never troll.
b. You call a fact you don't like, a lie.

I only talk facts.
And I never troll.

You have a strange definition of both, by the way.

>> nothing left to discuss with respect to *how* to turn the iOS

>
> Except that it would be more convenient to use the youtube app addon.

That's a fair-enough statement that it's fewer button presses to use the
youtube addon. But I already don't use the youtube app all that much
anyway, at least on Android - since NewPipe works much better for me than
does the Youtube app.

Newpipe plays the same stuff and - so far - I've *never* seen an
advertisement using NewPipe, so, whatever is happening is good (but I
rarely see advertisements on Youtube except on iOS so all my /etc/hosts
file additions must be helping me out).

So, the problem, I think, is that the youtube app has advertisements which
I don't see with the other methods. I'm not clear though on all the facts,
since I would think youtube can *force* an ad if they really wanted to -
but I don't ever see ads on my Linux or Android devices but they're highly
modified for privacy - so "something" I'm doing is getting rid of the
youtube ads.

Nonetheless, the iOS device does get youtube ads, which is why I don't
generally use the youtube app on the iOS device.

I guess if I better *understood* where those youtube ads were coming from
on the iOS device, I'd take measures to destroy them - but as I said, I
don't generally use the youtube app.

Besides, it's effort to choose the best youtube addon because, in my humble
experience, my constraints are tremendously more stringent than most of
yours.

You guys don't mind shelling out money willy nilly for stuff that I get
free.

You guys don't seem to mind ads - I hate them and never use an app that has
them unless there is absolutely no other apps out there (which rarely
happens).

You guys don't seem to mind privacy flaws such as registration (I *never*
register for anything!) and you don't seem to mind web page stuff that
should be done on the device and you don't even seem to mind doing
everything on the cloud, etc.

So, an app that works for most of you almost never is good enough for me
since my requirements are usually far more stringent than yours.

> I couldn┤ find it using google either, presumably its relatively new and
> the author hasn┤ got around to putting up a web site etc on it yet.

Thanks for looking.
I fully understand that it's *work* to find a decent app.
And I don't ask anyone to *do* that work for me.

But, if someone *says* it exists, I simply ask them *what* the app is that
works for them.

Then I test *that* app.
That way, it's no work for you and less work for me.

Of course, there are guys like nospam who constantly *say* there is an app
for everything - but since they never back up their claims, I discount
everything he says out of hand as worthless.

At least when *I* suggest an app, it's one that I've tried myself (e.g., I
recently suggested a good calculator for the savage savant).

> I'll keep trying just hitting the power button when the youtube app
> is playing and then hitting the home button again and see if it pops
> up again. That┬ how I saw it the first time. And will accept the offer

Thanks for offering to do that effort.
In general, I never ask anyone to go to an effort to do "my research" for
me, but just giving me a list of URLs (as SavageDuck did) isn't helpful
because they have to be *tested* and almost always they fail.

I tested the first three, for example, of SavageDucks URLs and all failed
my basic requirements. The first failed instantly. The second failed in a
minute and the third failed after a close inspection of its limitations.

Then I gave up. I started writing a response to Savageduck but I deleted it
because he did go to the effort to list the URLs so I didn't want to shoot
them down on him as he did try.
>
>> Thank you for testing and suggesting the solution
>> which entailed simply shutting it off three times with
>> other stuff in between. That worked perfectly!
>
> No problem, that's what these groups are about.

Ummm... er... yes and no.
Most Usenet newsgroups are GREAT as they're about helping each other.
I participate daily in about a half dozen newsgroups and maybe a dozen
overall over time (e.g., nntp groups and wifi groups sporadically).

This particular newsgroup (and the other Apple newsgroup) is far different
than all the rest.

To put it bluntly, this newgroup is mostly composed of people who can't
handle facts and won't handle facts and who don't ever answer the question.

Most of these people are *very responsive* though, so if you ask a
question, such as a whether they have experience with propane monitors on
their mobile devices, the thread is *filled* to the brim with responses.

But almost none of them are useful.

Me? I have a Usenet style which is simple:
a. I ask a question in its own thread.
b. I manage that thread (which means I respond to almost everyone)
c. I leave when the answer is obtained (but I respond some more)

For me, since I provide full information in *each* thread, it doesn't
matter what nym I use; what matters are the details *in* the thread.

You'll note that I berate those who try to destroy the thread (e.g., the
Jamie and The Jolly Troll) simply because every post from them is negative
value to the thread. They can never answer the questions.

I specifically *love* when David Empson writes, because he, above all,
knows what he is talking about. Sobrique is usually reasonable well
balanced (although his latest ideas on taxation are a bit odd).

You are *sometimes* well balanced; but you jump to the liar and troll
accusations too readily to be taken seriously when you are responding to
me.

You do appropriately tell Jamie that he couldn't weasel his way out of a
wet paper bag, but you're dealing with a bona-fide moron so he will never
understand (neither will the Jolly Troll).

However, nospam is an enigma all by himself. He seems as smart as you seem,
but he never backs up his claims (which shows he's not as smart as he
sounds), and he is dead wrong on so many things (e.g., the app drawer
concept) that he's only useful when he is actually correct.

When he's actually correct, he's *very* useful because then he actually
tells good facts - but he's wrong more than he's right simply because he
doesn't really know the facts of what he says.

Savageduck is also very useful when the topic is media-file related.

Exactly! We agree.
Safari is *trying* to do something useful by handing off the URL to
Youtube, but, Safari didn't implement the "no thanks" option.

I tried it multiple times, simply because I couldn't believe there wasn't a
no-thanks option. I mean, why even bother to pop up the *question* if the
*only* answer is yes?

I thought that was a dumb implementation of an otherwise good idea.

Funny how you never discovered simply trying a second time to load a
YouTube URL in mobile Safari, results in not being asked to pass it to
the YouTube app, and simply loads it in Safari instead. Thus being a
simple "no-thanks option" easily found by trying it 'multiple times'...

Perhaps I found this simple option because I'm just too moronic to give
up trying or give up learning? :-D

I do love it when people try to claim others are stupid, only to be
shown up by them *grins* The strong sense of poetic justice is both
pleasing and righteous :-)

Another bare faced lie. You are nothing even remotely like that about
everything from by far the most useful advance we have recently seen,
clouds, to even the most basic stuff like paying for stuff using a credit
or debit card, to paying peanuts for useful apps, etc etc etc.

In fact I can't personally think of anyone more
UNBALANCED than you on those issues I just listed.

Another bare faced lie.

Another bare faced lie with your bare faced lie that there is
nothing available on iOS that isnt available with android as
well with all of airdrop, handoff, continuity, sandboxing etc.

Yes, there is also quite a bit that is available on android that
is not available on iOS, like automatic recording of all incoming
and outgoing cellular calls, automatic answering of incoming
cellular calls or the system set to always ask you if you want
to answer the incoming call with a voice response to that
question and being able to see what wifis your device can
see even if they arent all currently usable, so you can move
towards one of currently unusable ones if you need to or
tweak your own wifi setup to allow more reliable wifi.

Another bare face lie. What is not to like about the fact that
there is quite a bit that iOS can do that android can not ?

That lie of yours that there is nothing that iOS can do that android can
not do is nothing even remotely like a fact, its just a bare faced lie.

Another bare faced lie with all of airdrop, continuity, handoff and
sandboxing
where we don’t need to add a damned thing to get that useful functionality.

And there is no need for itunes either, there are
plenty of other ways to do what itunes does too.

> Me? I just use the native software on the windows and linux computers,

More fool you. And that is a bare faced lie too, you have
just admitted that you do in fact use handbrake yourself.

> so, I know nothing of the computer-based tools you so often suggest.

In fact I don’t do that very often at all, mostly just alternatives to
itunes.

> While I have used iTunes (and I hate it with a passion), I have less
> experience with cloud accounts which you guys espouse so frequently.

Because they are in fact by far the most useful technology that
has shown up in recent times because they are completely
automatic once setup and mean that you don’t have to fart
around manually moving stuff between your devices at all.

I used to do what you still do, move the shopping list and
database of the best prices I have ever seen and the size
and other comments database for clothes and shoes etc
to my smartphone using bluetooth just before leaving
the house to do some shopping etc. Now I update all
those on the desktop and never have to do a thing,
they are all automatically available on my smartphone
without me ever doing anything manually anymore.

> As for trolling, you're a bona-fide fool if you think I troll.

There is no other explanation for why you continually post
about how things are done on androids in an iOS group.

> I have proven time and time again that I let you guys have

In fact you continually respew your lies like your bare faced lie
that there is nothing that iOS can do that android can not do.

And you are lying when you claim you respond with a smiley,
you actually respond with a list of what android can do that
iOS can not do when your nose is rubbed in your bare faced
lie that there is nothing that iOS can do that android can not do.

> If you actually do think I troll, then please just plonk me,

I never do that. I call trolls on their lies, essentially because
there are always plenty of people who don’t realise that a
lie is a lie who need to know that the lie is a lie.

> since I don't play that game and never will.

Yet another bare faced lie.

What is not to like about the FACT that there are in fact
quite a few things that iOS can do that android can not
do, and which are in fact one of the reasons I choose to
have an iOS smartphone and not an android, like airdrop,
continuity, handoff and sandboxing in spades.

And much more intuitive and orthogonal too because
all you have to do is hit the power button, just like you
do whenever you want to blank the screen like with a
navigation app when you are just using the voice
turn by turn instructions and never look at the screen
and want the better time on battery so you don’t have
to fart around plugging the smartphone into the charger
in the car etc.

> But I already don't use the youtube app all that much

Even sillier than you usually manage. Manually farting
around using newpipe is a completely fucking stupid
way of listening to stuff that’s on youtube.

> You guys don't mind shelling out money willy nilly for stuff that I get
> free.

We in fact use the free stuff when its just as good as the paid for stuff
and pay
peanuts for the better stuff when paying peanuts gets you something better.

You do in fact pay quite a bit for hardware but are too stupid to
pay peanuts for useful apps when they are better than the free stuff.

> You guys don't seem to mind privacy flaws such

How stunningly balanced of you.

Another bare faced lie. Hardly any of us use groups.google,
almost all of us do usenet on out devices instead.

Because that works much better than manually farting around
manually moving files around when that isnt necessary anymore.

> So, an app that works for most of you almost never is good enough

Because your requirements are infinitely more STUPID,
like they must be free, never require any registration,
must do it the dinosaur manual way etc etc etc.

Its likely completely academic anyway because since it asked me
if I wanted to try it, most likely it does cost peanuts if you decide
you like it and you will refuse to pay peanuts to go from a few taps
with chrome and a very intuitive UI to just the one with that addon.

> Of course, there are guys like nospam who constantly *say* there

That is stupid. He does sometimes come up with something useful.

So do you, which is one of the reasons I read everything in here.

But then I have always been able to read very
quickly so its easier for me than for most.

The most I do at times is not bother to reply when things are a bit busy.

Its no real effort. I likely will have someone else ask me how to do
that because it is something quite a few people do, listen to stuff
to pass the time etc and when it isnt possible to have the idevice
plugged into the charger, useful to turn the screen off so that the
time between charges is increased significantly, particularly when
travelling on public transport.

And that addon would also be useful for those who prefer to get
their music for free from youtube rather than pay for one of those
streaming services. But there are other ways of listening to music
off youtube too.

Still much better than having to try to google for them from scratch
or try to comb thru the store. Someone has already done that work
when they give you a handful of urls and you can always go the long
winded route if none of the handful suit you.

Because you have some completely stupid restrictions on what you will use.

They just don’t tolerate trolls and liars.

Yet another lie.

But hardly ever bothers to call you on your lies which IMO
isnt a great approach because plenty don’t realise that your
lies are lies, particularly the lies like your claim that there is
nothing that iOS can do that android can not do and the
other flagrant bare face lie that iOS is just as bad for the
security of your personal data as android is. It is very
undesirable indeed that that sort of bare faced lie is
not called, because there are plenty who need to know
that that is a lie so they are very selective about what
apps they try on their androids. And equally that there is
no reason to be anything like as careful with iOS devices.

Damned odd, but not that uncommon.

Sometimes he does. But he can never bring himself
to admit that he is wrong, the most he ever does is
shut up about his most terminal stupiditys after
desperately attempting to bullshit his way out of
his predicament like he did with sd cards.

> (which shows he's not as smart as he sounds),

It shows nothing of the kind. He's just
jerking your chain when he does that.

Just as true of you and everyone else with that last.

He does actually most of the time, just doesn’t have the balls to
admit to the most terminal stupiditys that he manages repeatedly.

Not just then, he knows plenty about other stuff too
and is a hell of a lot more balanced than you too.

And doesn’t lie thru his teeth or troll either.
