You're one of the few well educated people on this newsgroup where you can
understand what I'm imparting, and rest assured, I understand what you're
trying to say (i.e., an hypothesis is more than just a hunch); but most
people on this newsgroup are incredibly ignorant (IMHO), where I've often
proven they base their entire belief system on exactly zero (0) facts.

Their guesses are no better than the result of a coin flip.
o Worse, some on this newsgroup, are Dunning Kruger Quadrant 1.

They trust their intuition far more than they trust in facts.
o Worse - MARKETING feeds them their "intuition"

For example, Exxon feeds people a tiger running across the screen
o At the same time saying "Premium - More power - more fun".

People then intuit that an AKI of X+5 "must" be better than AKI of X
o Because MARKETING plays on people's intuition - perfectly so.

Therefore, particularly given Apple MARKETING is so fantastically brilliant
o I suspect the Apple users are wrong on guesses even _more_ than 50%

Because Apple _feeds_ them their entire intuition.

NOTE: There are few people on this newsgroup intelligent enough to
comprehend what value I just imparted, where I hope you're one of them.

There's a difference here, Poutnik, and you know it.
o You and I are trained as scientists - by very intelligent people.

I was trained in one of the finest institutes in the entire world.
o I was trained to form a hypothesis based on the known facts

In general, there are tens, hundreds, thousands of facts I take into
account when forming an hypothesis, Poutnik... as probably do you.

Rarely does a scientist guess - and when they do, they're often wrong.
o Take the doubleslit experiment and the guesses for hundreds of years

Even gravity as a "force" propagated in the "ether" was a "guess" by the
smartest men on this planet, as you are well aware, Poutnik.

And yet, they were wrong. 
o Gravity doesn't even exist (as a force).

Anyone who trusts their intuition more than they trust facts, IMHO, is a
fool, where _most_ people on this newsgroup are fools by that definition
(IMHO).

o I don't trust my intuition one bit.

I don't even "trust in God".
o I trust in facts.

I'm old, but not that old to have been there when the people of your area
figured out the wheel, where you'll note that, other than the potter's
wheel, few indigenous people "guessed" at the wheeled chariot.

Very few (if any) ancient mountain people's "guessed" at the wheel
o It's _only_ the people of the steppes and deserts (e.g., Assyria)

Notice the geography and the availability of beasts of burden allowed them
to formulate an engineering plan for a wheel, while aborigines of
mountainous areas (who often lack beasts of burden) didn't cause them to
design the wheel.

The wheel wasn't "guessed" Poutnik (IMHO); it was designed by engineers.

To your point, there are extremely few people, unfortunately, on this
newsgroup who are intelligent and well educated - and worse - very few are
educated in the sciences and engineering. 

Almost none of them could get through a chapter of the infamous Morrison &
Boyd, for example, which I use since I'm sure you're well aware of it.

All they know is bullshit MARKETING - where they can't think outside their
own intuition - which is why I claim that guessing sucks, particularly on
this newsgroup where the intelligence bar is set to low as to be
depressing.

Hence, you'll note I stand out as one of the few people, as do a few others
though, but not very many - perhaps a half dozen - who back up their claims
with actual cites and well-annotated screenshots.

The rest bullshit like there is no tomorrow.
