No, Google has nothing to do with it. I found the setting in Blue Mail:

The account in question | ... | Notifications | scroll to the account | 
Instant Push Settings | Push or Fetch | Manual

Or here. Sounds like POP mail is not really a good fit for you. IMAP is 
more suitable for multiple devices.
