Sorry, a correction is necessary here: the OP's code fails because there
is no meaning in subtracting:
"Fri Mar 01 2013 00:36:34 GMT-0300" - "2013/02/26 10:24:00" // NaN
It is the same as:
"three" - "one" // NaN
But if you do:
"3" - "1" // produces 2.
Anyway, beware of implicit coercions in JavaScript.
