I (and most of the currently coding world) agrees with Arne.

Except WRT his other reply: -
[API = JavaScript application running client side (using AngularJS
or similar framework, could be a single page application) talking
to server side API which in Java typical would be JAX-RS based.]

Drop this bit: -  (using AngularJS
or similar framework, could be a single page application)!!!

AngularJS, jQuery, BootStrap yada, yada, yadda, are just for JAVA and C# 
programmers who can't code Javascript and are afraid to try or incapable 
of learning something new,
