It's that new math, too new for dictionaries.
Old math: 30 * 3 = 90
New math: 30 * 3 = (30 + 30 + 30) = 90
Then of course there's theoretical arithmetic, and floating point arithmetic.
Word problems should count as a different kind of arithmetic.
