The getDatabaseMetaData needs to be getMetaData.

This gives 3 and 0, while the correct version is: 3.16.1.

Not as far as I know. It is something specifically with SQLite3. Only
one program can mutate the database. If you do something with the
DBBrowser, but forget to update, that wrecks havoc. That is why I have
a cronjob that twice every hour checks all databases on being locked.
