getDatabaseProductVersion() does give 3.16.1.
MetaData is something I should look into. In my abstract class I
added:
void displayMetaData() throws SQLException {
DatabaseMetaData dbmd = conn.getMetaData();
System.out.println("driver version = " + dbmd.getDriverVersion());
System.out.println("driver name = " + dbmd.getDriverName());
System.out.println("db name = " + dbmd.getDatabaseProductName());
System.out.println("db ver = " + dbmd.getDatabaseProductVersion());
}
