Transforming SSA to or augmenting SSA for stack machine operations
requires some interesing work, since there is far less immediately
addressable on the stack than there is with the infinite memory SSA uses
(the top 2 or 3 cells at most in our stack and a push-down temporary
store in the return stack); and we want to avoid using memory, especially
using it randomly and arbitrarily, where at all possible. I would suggest
that SSA to Forth is as hard a problem as C to Forth, and I wish the OP
well. Anton Ertl has pointed out the limited number of papers on this
subject elsewhere.
