You're seeing the enemy portraying something [Christianity] by name
which is a false representation [not real Christianity] of the real
thing [because real Christians are not like that, and do not speak
like that].
If you seek to understand Jesus Christ, you will see His people being
like Him, and not like the world, nor like the enemy. The enemy
would have you believe Christianity is like that preacher. It is not,
and His people are not, because Jesus is not.
If you see wrongness in that preacher's comments, you see correctly.
Real Christianity is different than that preacher's deception and
falseness, as his is not the voice of the Bible, or Jesus Christ, but is
the voice of the enemy.
You can learn who Jesus is for yourself. Read the gospel of John,
or watch it in dramatized movie form here:

It is not a limitation of God. We are conveying what He has told us:
http://www.josephineelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/postdiluvian_timeline.jpg
You can read all about these dates in the book of Genesis:
http://biblehub.com/kjv/genesis/5.htm
It's why God gave us the Bible, so we could know. The enemy will only
fool and deceive those people who do not pursue the truth. For those who
pursue the truth, it is found, and they are saved. The rest will perish.
It's what I'm telling all of you... there is more going on here than just
a religion, or people who believe this or that. There is a real war on
for your soul, and there is a real enemy who is actively at work deceiving
all of you because of sin. It is only those who are born again who will
see and know the truth, and then tell that truth to others.
Each of us who are born again lived a portion of our lives where we were
not born again, and were just as deceived. But, for those who are born
again, we sought the truth. We wanted to know the real truth regardless
of whether it took us this way or that way. By pursuing the truth, we found
it, because God's promised it would be that way:
http://biblehub.com/kjv/jeremiah/29-13.htm
http://biblehub.com/kjv/luke/11-9.htm
http://biblehub.com/kjv/revelation/22-17.htm
You are that important.
God really did die to save YOU.
You really can be saved.
All you have to do is ask Jesus to forgive you.
He does the rest.
Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

You can also continue the lineage through other Bible passages which convey
the timeline:
http://biblehub.com/kjv/matthew/1.htm
http://biblehub.com/kjv/ruth/4.htm#18
http://biblehub.com/kjv/luke/3.htm#23
There is also the recorded resurrection of Lazarus, who had been dead four
days when Jesus came to resurrect him. This is symbolic of the 4,000 years
that had transpired before Jesus came. And, as is recorded, "he stinketh"
(just as we stinketh because of sin).
But Jesus called out to him, and resurrected him. And the dead man came out.
http://biblehub.com/kjv/john/11.htm
It's also recorded that after Jesus heard he was sick, he waited two days
before going to resurrect him. This is symbolic of the 2,000 years that we
have had since He was upon the Earth. And that time is almost up:

If I remember rightly, in Aztec religion we are on the fourth or fifth round and things are supposed to improve each time as the gods get more practice at creating worlds. And then there is Last Thursdayism, which has a very young universe - but I don't think it is cyclic. You just created the universe last Thursday to /look/ like it gets recreated every Thursday.

Thus, the claim (in the Subject header of this > thread) that evolution is disproven is patently false. Indeed. Evolution works - there is no doubt about that. Ask anyone who has suffered from antibiotic resistant bacteria. But evolution is a way to change characteristics as you move from one generation of things (lifeforms, algorithms, whatever) to the next - it doesn't say how the process got started. That is a very different question - one that is poorly understood by most laymen (such as almost everyone who claims that religious beliefs proves or disproves scientific concepts, or that scientific evidence proves or disproves religious concepts). And it is definitely not a question for this group - especially as many of the people here with interesting viewpoints would (understandably) refuse to contribute in this newsgroup. > > There is a perfectly reasonable way to reconcile the scientific model > with a Biblically young Earth that doesn't require anyone to mock anyone > else's point of view or suspend their disbelief or anything like that. > If anyone wants to know what it is, by all means ask - but in a > newsgroup that is intended for that purpose. And in groups where you get civil discussions amongst thoughtful, educated and intelligent people (like c.l.c.), these sorts of topics are frowned upon and boycotted. So I guess it's back to C...
