#94968 — How much is your life worth?

There are a lot of hypocrites in this world ... Christians who call themselves
by that name, yet are no different than the world. Using profanity, dressing
inappropriately, being rude, mean, watching the TV shows and movies, listening
to the songs, all of which when you compare them side-by-side to the teachings
of Jesus Christ, fall woefully short of what the Bible calls "holy" behavior.

Why? Why are so many Christians hypocrites?

Jesus Christ has a calling upon people's lives. His calling is an internal
calling, and it is a calling toward holiness and action. That calling is not
something that can be received by someone until they are honestly searching
for the truth. For some this comes automatically, but for others they have
to make a conscious decision to honestly and truly seek the truth regardless
of what things they may have been taught in the past.

The truth is ... there are no hypocrites in the Kingdom of God, and Jesus
doesn't call people forward to be hypocrites. He calls them forward to be
disciples, and to receive His Holy message (called "holy" because it's
distinct and separate from the ways of the world), and for the person who
received this to actually live it in their life and to then go out and teach
others.

God knows we are still here in this fallen world, and that we will make
mistakes. We will stumble and fall down in our walk. We might say some
remark, or even do some thing, which we must later repent of. But what He
calls Christians to is an overall movement in this world toward increasing
holiness, a lifelong process for every believer called "sanctification,"
whereby the former ways things were done, thought of, taught, and considered,
are replaced with His teachings over time. Some of these are immediate, but
others will be introduced over time.

-----
If you are put off by hypocritical Christians and think that Jesus Christ is
like that .... please know that He is not. He calls people into a true walk
with Him, in holiness, in temperance, in love, in peace, and always teaching.

If you recognize that many Christians are hypocrites, then that is a good
thing, because you're already half way there in realizing that the way so
many people who profess to be Christians in this world are isn't really the
way we're supposed to be.

What God is calling YOU to be is the PROPER kind of Christian, the one who
is truly born again, changed from the inside out, and then lives the rest of
their life from within that change. He promises this change will come with
the forgiveness of sin and repentance, for all who seek Him honestly and
truly. He visits the pure in heart:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/matthew/5-8.htm
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Be the Christian Jesus Christ is calling you to be. Be it for real. Be
it for Him. Be it for all of those around you who are perishing who,
upon hearing the word of truth given rightly, might come out from the
darkness and deception and into His marvelous light.

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/1_peter/2-9.htm
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who
hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:
which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of God in an unrepentant state.
It is a wonderful thing to receive Jesus Christ, receive forgiveness, and to
pass from death to life even while we yet live here in this world. Seek a
closer relationship with the Lord, and watch Him work miracles in your life.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Reinhardt, God has no creator. From our point of view, He has always
been, and will always be. He is God Almighty, the Creator of all.

We are rays. We have a finite beginning, but will continue to exist
forever as well. But only when we receive forgiveness of sin through
Jesus Christ will we enter into eternity alive. If we do not receive
forgiveness through Him, we will enter into eternal damnation, a type
of confinement from God's creation from which we will never escape,
and will be tormented day and night forever.

Such is the price of rebellion against truth, rebellion against all
that is good, right, true, and holy. And Jesus warned people in advance
of this coming day of judgment and eternal punishment. And because it
is now known, and it continues to be rejected, even this offer extended
to us while we were yet sinners, all who reject Him will be utterly cast
down without remorse or any possibility of parole or release. It will
only and always be eternal torment forever.

It's why this message is so important. It's why I take the time to write
these messages and teach these things. And it's why this thread is
entitled, "How much is your life worth?"

How much is your life worth? Is it worth investigating the truth? Or
are you content to believe the lie? And how will you know if it's true
or not unless you investigate it?

Seek the truth, Reinhardt. Seek it with passion. You will find all you
could've ever hoped for and more.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Hu haiyah, ve hu hove, ve hu yehiyeh

(He was, and He is, and He shall be).

Except it doesn't translate. Hebrew has no present tense. You cannot say
"I eat", only "I ate", "I will eat", or "I am eating", in the last, "eating" is an
adjective.
So what about the verb "to be?". In English we can say "I am eating", "I am
tallking" and so on. But you can't put the verb to be in the same form, "I
am being". And it's the same with Hebrew.
So "hu hove" does not mean "He is", it means "He is being". It's regular, but
it's illegal. Except, in Hebrew, when applied to God. Only God has a present
tense, Only God is. Everything else was or shall be, but the infinitesimal
moment of the present is filled by Him and Him alone.

Try another passage to give context to the others:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/psalms/90-2.htm
    http://biblehub.com/text/psalms/90-2.htm
    http://biblehub.com/lexicon/psalms/90-2.htm
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed
the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou
      art God.

We read in Genesis 1 when the Earth was formed:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/genesis/1.htm
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

So aligning with Psalms 90:2, and Genesis 1:1, God was before anything
in His creation was. You can also read the YLT Young's Literal Translation
to read in English the order or true intent of the original Hebrew, Aramaic,
or Greek phrasing. The words in the original language are sometimes
arranged differently, which can also convey explicit meaning beyond mere
word use.

Or you can go with the Greek:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/revelation/22-13.htm
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the
       last.

-----
We can't just take one passage and run with it. The Bible is a whole
assemblage of the written revelation of God given to man throughout our
history. It must be studied. And for all who would step forward and
be a teacher on the subject, it is wise to remember two things:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/2_timothy/2-15.htm
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

And:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/james/3-1.htm
1 My brethren, be not many masters [teachers], knowing that we shall
      receive the greater condemnation.

It is a hefty thing to step up in this world and speak the teachings of
the Lord. It is not to be entered in to lightly. It has consequences
that are to be considered because the damage done by one who was taught
by a teaching of you, is credited back to you, and all they teach, and
so on.

We must study to rightly divide the word of truth, and then we open our
mouths to teach.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Your approach is fundamentally unscholarly. ~You take one text, then you take
another that superficially at least deals with a similar subject, and say that
"taken together, these tell us what "The Bible" is really saying.

There is a case for looking at similar texts and phrases and seeing if they illuminate
each other. It's not totally wrong-headed. But you can't do it exactly like that.
You've got to look at the context, you've got to fit it into your theories of authorship
and dating. If, for the sake of argument, we accept the traditional literalist view, then
the book of Genesis was written by Moses, Psalm 90 by King David. Over 300 years
apart. In David's time Israel was undergoing rapid development from an assembly of
pastoral hill-tribes into a sophisticated, militarily strong, cultured empire with an
administrative centre in Jerusalem. Moses, on the other hand, was a highly educated
member of the Egyptian royal court who was driven into exile with a group of
followers after disputes with the king. Different people, different backgrounds,
different understanding.

If you take the view as a matter of men's knowledge and involvement only
then it's easy to conclude such a thing. But the spirit of God dwelt
within Moses and David, and it was that spirit which guided them from
within. It was not their own Earthly understanding, nor mental or
physical prowess, but it was God changing their hearts, guiding them
from within, giving them the power and ability to do, and to record a
message and lesson that was not for them only, but for all people who
would come after (for even the Old Testament has extreme value for the
Christians who today find their salvation in Jesus Christ, recorded in
the New Testament by name, along with His Earthly acts and deeds).

-----
It was God's Holy Spirit that wrote the Bible, and recorded the things
which are written in it. They were written through men's hands, but it
was the spirit of the living God which guided their writing, hence it is
one book, one voice throughout the entire Bible.

Moses:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/numbers/11.htm
16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the
elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people,
and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the
congregation, that they may stand there with thee.
17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of
the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they
shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it
       not thyself alone.
    -----
24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and
gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them
       round about the tabernacle.
25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of
the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders:
and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they
       prophesied, and did not cease.

A portion of the spirit which was upon Moses was divided out to 70 men,
and they prophesied, and did not cease in so doing.

David:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/1_samuel/16-13.htm
13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst
of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from
that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

David walked with the spirit of God guiding Him. He made mistakes, but
he repented, and he was a man after God's own heart the Bible records:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/1_samuel/13-14.htm
14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him
a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be
captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which
       the LORD commanded thee.

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/acts/13-22.htm
22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be
their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found
David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall
       fulfil all my will.

-----
God has had a plan in motion since before He created the Earth. We are
living through His plan here upon this Earth, but it is one plan, one
purpose, one God, one vision, one final destination for those who are
saved by Jesus Christ.

The video shows the reality.
God was created by man.
That is true even if you are so diluted that you will not accept this.

I used to believe that way, Reinhardt. And yes, man has created many gods.
But man did not create God Almighty, the one true God who created all
things. But because of sin we are in rebellion against Him, which is
why it can seem that way so easily.

I would advise you study the Bible, Reinhardt, and in so doing set your
honest and true sights on seeking and searching out the full truth of
the matter. It would be a horrible thing if Satan's attempts to deceive
you by introducing many false gods kept you from coming to know the one
and true God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Your eternal soul is on the line with this one. I advise you to examine
it with zeal and be absolutely sure. If you do, you'll learn the truth,
and the truth will make you free.

I am already free, free of such delusions.

And I am also quite happy that where I live there are no many of your kind,
just about 1%.

God lives within our hearts, not within our buildings:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/acts/7-48.htm
48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as
       saith the prophet,

If it means anything to you, Reinhardt, I used to believe EXACTLY as you
do, that it was a delusion, that I was happy in my atheism. When I set
my sights on understanding the truth of the Bible (so I could refute it
to a Christian no less, to show him where he was wrong to believe such a
thing), by setting my sights on the truth ... I found it.

The same will happen to you, and then after you do find the truth the same
thing that happened to me will also happen to you: you will not believe
the change that comes over you. The spirit nature gives a person something
on the inside the flesh could never know, which is how a person could be so
sure of their non-belief before seeking the truth, and so sure of their new
belief after seeking the truth and coming to Jesus Christ for salvation.

The old man literally dies, and the new man is born. This happens to all
people who will be saved. If you do not see that kind of black and white,
night and day behavior change ... question their salvation, because Jesus
gets in there and fundamentally rewires the polarity and everything that
goes along with it. It's a literal new man.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Nah, diluted is the right word. Rick has one thing to say (on this
subject), and when his message does not appear to work he dilutes it
again and again in more words that no one ever reads. It's a sort of
verbal homoeopathy, with about as sense and as much success as the real
thing.

I care about people, David. Even you. :-) I desire for each of you
to give God glory when you testify before Him that I reached out to you,
sharing the gospel message that salvation comes through Jesus Christ
alone, and that He will forgive all who come to Him humbly, repenting,
and asking forgiveness.

It may not mean much to you today, but there will come a day when these
posts of mine will be the foremost thing on your mind. You will on that
day see how much I loved you, and how much I tried (through repeated
ways, multiple different angles) to reach you with the message. On that
day you will know the truth, and you will weep over the beauty of all
that's before you, and you will weep over the fact that you will never
be able to take part in any of it because you rejected the one lifeline
that was thrown to you in this world ... and because of who Jesus is,
one is/was enough.

I pray that day never comes because I pray you receive Jesus as Savior
and Lord before that day. I pray you will be forgiven and teach others
that which I have tried with great patience to teach you. A reward
awaits you in Heaven for service to Him on this Earth. It doesn't matter
whether people are converted or not because that's not up to you. It
only matters that you have faith in Him, believe the gospel, and try with
real sincerity and effort to reach out and teach others.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

There are around 3 000 or 3 500 gods in existence (actively followed by
actual people).

There are countless dead gods, i.e. gods that no longer have living
supporters. The aztec gods that imply somehow children sacrifice have
disappeared and no longer we sacrifice children.

But there are hindus beliefs, for instance, that assign a "caste" to
people. So, if you are born into the pariah caste, you belong to the
"untouchables", people that other people should not ever touch.

The rich are the "brahmins", that control everything for their benefit.

The gods around there are no worst than the gods involved in the north
ireland conflict, where both parties belong to gods that actually said
that they should do otherwise: jesus followers of protestant and not
protestant confessions go on killing themselves for completely stupid
beliefs.

Too much nonsense, this belief has caused countless human deaths, all
for nothing. It is called colective hysteria and perdures for so long as
we do not free ourselves from it.

There is no factual basis for any god. All those beliefs are just that:

LEGENDS !!!!!

They have no factual basis in reality.

What is reality?

Is that that rests even if you stop believing in it. Reality is that
that doesn't care about your beliefs and goes its course outside your
petty desires.

In reality there is one being (of course) where we all belong:

life

We are living beings and we can't survive more than 4 to 5 weeks without
other life in form of nourishment. We need other life to keep living, no
batteries, after a few weeks you are dead.

That is reality. Life exists within and without you. It is you that are
a part of life, from a long descent into consciuosness until you are the
struggle of all living beings to which you belong.

After we realize that we just do not know, we can start learning and
make our first steps in the way of knowledge.

Jacob, you are a well thought out and spoken individual. I urge you to
take that high-powered intellect and seek the truth. Pick up a Bible
that was translated with sincerity, a version that is in your native
language as close to the accuracy in translation as the original King
James Version is in mine, and begin studying it.

It is not a myth. It is not a legend. It is not an invented being. Oh
there are MANY of those out there, but there is also only ONE true God.

I was not prepared for what happened to me in 2004 when I began studying
the Bible. I legitimately and for real sought to understand it properly,
to know the truth of the Bible. And to my unimaginable surprise I found
it. My entire life changed. I was a new person from the inside out and
the things I was absolutely certain of previously were dispensed with by
the NEW living spirit dwelling within me. That spirit, which is a down
payment given unto man by God Himself as a seal unto the day of Redemption,
speaks in ways that were unknown before. It's like a deaf person hearing
for the first time. A new sense comes alive and it provides insight and
input that was not previously possible. It's like a blind man seeing for
the first time. A new sense comes alive and it provides awareness of the
surroundings that could not previously have been known.

The new sense which is the living spirit of God dwelling within us speaks
then to our own born again nature, such that we are aware of things we
COULD NOT have been aware of previously because we did not have the
faculties to identify them. We were operating in a type of blindness, or
deafness, only partial people, incomplete. And when we are saved by Jesus
Christ, He takes our sin away and we are then alive spiritually and it
changes EVERYTHING about a person from the inside out.

It is not a book that changes you. Not a list of rules. You are changed
by Him from within, by the living God Himself. It is entirely an act of
God upon your life. It is not an act of man, an accomplishment of some
intellect or intellectual pursuit. It is not knowledge that a person has
somehow attained on their own. It is the gift of God imparted to you for
His good pleasure and your eternal life.

Such a gift does not come to all people, but it comes to all people who
pursue the truth with a full effort and with real passion.

This is my testimony to you, Jacob. I teach you these things so that you
can hear from one such as me, and you can go online and search for similar
testimonies from countless other Christians who are now born again, that
there is more to our lives than this flesh. There is more to our lives
than that which we are born with. And if we will simply pursue the truth
with the fullest effort, and reach into the gospel message in that pursuit,
GOD HIMSELF will change you so that you CAN KNOW the truth about who He is,
what He has done, how sin destroyed us, and how Jesus saves us.

It is a revelation made possible only by the new life. And it is not a
thing any of us can achieve on our own, but we can only achieve it as by
a pursuit of the truth, and God seeing us pursuing the truth actively, and
then He supernaturally reaches into our inmost man and changes us so that
we can actually then find and know the truth. It's not possible without
His intervention. It requires us seeking the truth honestly, and then He
and He alone makes it possible to come to faith.

My testimony to you is that it is real. I write these things for no reason
other than it happened to me and I am now on this side of that knowledge,
and I desire for EVERYONE to find what I have found. It is the most amazing
thing you can imagine, and it's only a down payment of what's coming in full
once we reach the other side.

We are not these bodies only. We are living spirit eternal beings made in
the very image and likeness of God, Jacob! We have a future that is secure
in Jesus Christ, and He has carved out for us a plan in eternity that is
beyond beautiful, beyond desirable, and it is that very thing which the
hateful enemy of this world is trying to keep you from finding. That enemy
has lost everything and he wants you to go down with him into the fiery
depths of Hell.

Don't let him have you through a rejection of the truth. Embrace the truth,
and seek the truth honestly. Look deeply into pursuing it and pursue it
with your whole being. When you do, God will reach into your life and make
it possible for you to find what I've found, and you too will stand before
yourself in the mirror, looking at yourself in the eyes, mouth agape, eyes
full of tears, weeping over your sin and the years wasted here under the
great deception of that enemy. But you will also marvel at the change that
has take over your life. You will hear yourself speaking and saying the
things of God and when you get half way through you'll stop yourself and
say out loud with a surprised look on your face, "Where did that come from?"
It came from the spirit of God living within you! It came from your born
again nature. It did not come from the flesh, for no flesh can comprehend
the things of God, let alone teach upon them.

I urge you with all that I have within me, Jacob ... JUST ... SEEK ... THE
... TRUTH! Seek it fully, honestly, sincerely. Seek the truth and pick up
the Bible and read for yourself. God will do the rest, because none of us
are able to do anything with regards to our salvation. We are lost in sin
and we are dead. It's like trying to tell the corpse in the hospital that
the injection he needs to cure his disease is right here, now get up and
take it. The corpse can't hear because he's dead. But Jesus Christ is able
to breath life into that death. God the Father is able to perform a miracle
to make it possible for you to hear His call, and to come out from the grave,
and to come to know Him as He is in this world.

It's a glorious gift, Jacob. And it's why I spend this time writing these
things, so that you too can know the truth, and you too can enter in to
eternity alive.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Rick C. Hodgin <rick.c.hodgin@gmail.com> went off his meds and scribbled
for all the world to see:
...

Screwball.

>It is not a myth. It is not a legend. It is not an invented being. Oh
>there are MANY of those out there, but there is also only ONE true God.

Loonball.

Off Topic.

Crackpot.

Somebody needs to get back on their meds...

>Such a gift does not come to all people, but it comes to all people who
>pursue the truth with a full effort and with real passion.

Whacko.

Creepy Freakazoid.

Weirdo.

More than a few screws loose.

NutJob.

Crank.

Paranoid Freak.

>It's a glorious gift, Jacob. And it's why I spend this time writing these
>things, so that you too can know the truth, and you too can enter in to
>eternity alive.

Somebody needs to get back on their meds...
