And this was even before the first ISO C++-standard which lacked essential features like exceptions and generic programming.

Well, I ve lerned asm in 1990 (probably) on my Commodore.. wrote some demo in assembler on it (with rippeed music player from $c000 as a memopry block on irq) etc.. When i encountered c++ in my life (relatively late proabbly around 2001) i realized that it is a crap and stayed with c (superior-language)..later i wrote few nice things in it (green fire, sickle.c, org-asm, furia.exe) and developed its succesor codenamed c2/hipermodular c (that as to sad story of hard work..sadly not all things here are so sad, though some are even sadder)

> if i would have some inline i can write it and belive me i strongly prefer it over crap based on templates (and you will get 20 or 30 lines on each making 200 lines of crafted code, its not bloat) This template-crap is specialized with one line of code and has optimal performance. Depending on the type of generic algorithm / data-structure you may spend days in C to archieve the same.

The STL is not as rarely needed as qicksort.

> as for now i think youre sto stupid that ypu compare crap c++ library to "no library" in c - and the fact thist you would need to write it and thus have in source you name a "bloat" There's no library in C that can do what C++ can do here because C hasn't neither comparable generic programming, nor exceptions. C is a poor language for which you have to write an large amount of boilerplate-code.
