I called it a C subset compiler because it's missing things like
designated initialisers, compound literals and VLAs. Which are also
missing from C++ ...

But it's been discussed at length here in the past, when I gave links to
C source, so it definitely exists. This is a transcript of it at work:

C:\qx>time
The current time is: 21:11:34.47

C:\qx>\mx2\mc qq -c            # (create 43Kloc monolithic C file
Compiling qq.m to qq.c using old version of other compiler)

C:\qx>bcc qq # compile that C file using bcc
Compiling qq.c to qq.exe
Assembling to qq.exe

C:\qx>qq hello.q # run interpreter on test prog
Compiling hello.q to hello.pc
Hello World

C:\qx>time
The current time is: 21:11:35.24

I put the time stamps in show how that these tools don't hang about.
This is one big reason I heavily favour my own tools.

OK. I used my own languages and compilers to help me earn a living for
20 years, but I should give it up according to you, and instead switch
to a monstrosity of a programming language?

When are you going to realise that not everyone loves C++? You don't get
a great programming language just by throwing every single feature you
can think of into it with little thought about the result.

from my seeing bonita behaves much like dik hodgin it is it teaches fales things (stupidity)

generallly people on usenet fits to two categories (well 3 maybe):

1.

one 'teaches' says something that might be usable more or less (or nearly zero too) like they answer question provide information etc - those people are sometimes silly (like keith thompson)
but at least they say something that gathers some constructive (though also boroing and not very interesting) information and are minimally critical (there is nearly 100% chance they will understand some things you say if they menage to read that)

2.

second 'teaches' stupidity/bulshit and reject critical view... simple they are closed preachers (like dik, ramine, bonita here)... talking with that people is general pain as they are like those who like to eat your time infintely, you try to say something to them then reject so you try to explain in some other ways and it grows and you lost more and more time and youre draged in swamp more and more

3. third case are sorta neutral idiots mostly not interested in programming but interested in primitive antisocial acting like attacking people becouse of their own stupidity

2. and 3. could be name trolls (though i once said i would never use this unprecise naming) as they excell in distracting and things like that

as bonita its to 2nd category i think it is maybe better to spare torments and ignore her spam

Sorry, boy, you're kidding:

| These tests show how compilers fared when given just a very large
| block of simple but repeated lines. The test inputs were 20K, 100K,
| 500K or 2000K lines of:
| a = b+c*d
| or equivalent in each language. a,b,c,d are integers when declared,
| and initialised to 1,2,3,4.

Nevertheless, many compilers had problems. This is something any
compiler should be able to take in its stride, and if it can't manage
such a trivial test, then it raises questions.

for example what you use to open text file sort a lines and save the text file with lines sorted?

i use

#include "sickle.c"

int main()
{
    chunk notes = LoadChunk("notes.txt");

    chunks lines = SplitAfterCharacter(notes, 0x0a);

     Quicksort(lines);

     SaveChunks(lines, "notes sorted.txt");

     return 0;
}

wheres the bloat?

Where are the hand-specialized functions for
SplitAfterCharacter / Quicksort / SaveChunks?
You're just trolling.

what? what you mean hand specialized?
that functions are in sickle.c

damn youre disgustingly low in abilities of thinking -

if you get a conclusion that im a beginer
when i m not sure what you mean this is
a thinking characterizing an idiot

also when you assume i dont know crap c++
jargon when i had a lot of power in c

thinking holes = brain holes

C isn't powerful because it has almost the least
amount of language-facilities of all languages.

I think it's ridiculous to fight over lexical definitions.
If you have a C-typical string with a zero-terminator, use the proper
functions for it. If you have something different, use other functions.
Simply don't care what the language standard says.
