As I mentioned elsethread, you can work around this problem by compiling
with
gcc -D__USE_MINGW_ANSI_STDIO=1
or by using
#define __USE_MINGW_ANSI_STDIO 1
at the top of your source file.
Or you can convert to double before printing (which doesn't help if you
need to print a value that's outside the range of double).
