Probably not unless I recorded the "why" somewhere. Which, at that long-ago job, I probably would have done, because my immediate supervisor was a reasonable and technically competent person. If that hadn't been the case -- I don't know. (For what it's worth, the only ugly-hack fix I remember from that job was not mine, but a colleague's, and while I can remember more or less *what* he did, my recollection of the *why* is dimmer.
