I don't wish to use any definition of Malcolm functions! I have no idea
why you care about this so much. I can't even tell if the property is
supposed to one attached to a piece of code, or to a call to that piece
of code. Is
function comp(f, g) { return x => f(g(x)) }
(ECMAScript) a Malcolm function? I think I first asked six years ago.

I don't know where to start with that. Another "no" will have to do.

What are you talking about? What do you mean "this is recast as"? Who
does this recasting, and why is this recasting linked to lazy
evaluation? If it's incorrect to recast it like this in a lazy language
like Haskell, it could be just as incorrect in C or in ML.
But the immediate problem is that
return "fgetc(fp) - fgetc(fp)"
is written in a language who semantics I don't know. What do the quotes
mean? Until I know, I can't even know that this recasting is
incorrect. Maybe this line is that same as the original C snippet.
