Windows XP Service Pack 3 (the latest one) is strongly recommended for 
running Apache 2.4 on Windows XP:

The current MySQL Community Server GA release is 5.6.19, released 
2014-05-30.  The latest MySQL Community Server GA release for 5.5.x is 
5.5.38 of 2014-05-30.  5.5.36 was released on 2014-01-31.

The latest stable PHP version is PHP 5.5.13, released 2014-05-29, which 
fixes several bugs, and security vulnerabilities CVE-2014-0238 and 
CVE-2014-0237.  The latest version of PHP 5.4.x is 5.4.29, to which the same 
applies.  PHP 5.4.28 fixes several bugs as well.  Finally, PHP support for 
Windows XP and 2003 has been discontinued as of PHP 5.5.0 (2013-06-20).
