I'd like to set the minimum font size to be 12. Some texts are so dang
tiny for my old compound eyes in my 1080 HD monitors! It's annoying to
have to zoom in to read them. I just want to tell Firefox to always not
go lower than size 12 in my computers' updated Firefoxes.

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

Flow & Wild Robot were rad.
Note: A fixed width font (Courier, Monospace, etc.) is required to see this signature correctly.

That setting is right in the normal settings window under
Fonts -> Advanced. Even Chromium has the option.
Unfortunately there's no max size. I have more trouble
with 24px, triple-spaced fonts than with tiny fonts. With
a lot of pages I use a CSS toggler so that I can read in my
preferred font of 13px Verdana rather than 24px serif.

Also, you can disallow websites to pick their own fonts there.

Alas, that won't stop websites from using CSS to make the font appear as
large or small as they want. :-|

A few things that might help :

1) Reader mode. if available/shown in the right of the URL bar.

2) (Temporarily) Disabling CSS (as avilable under "view" -> "page style" ->
"no style"). It might have some side effects though ...

3) Using CTRL + and CTRL - to enlarge/shrink the page contents (use CTRL 0
to reset). This one will be remembered for the page you used it on.

When setting the min font size, make sure you change not only (as in my case) the 'latin'
settings, but change 'other writing systems'.

Although not all pages offer Reader Mode, it's nice to have. As an
example, I've found that pages that are essentially menus don't offer
Reader Mode. Thus, with most news sites, their front pages (that are
often more graphically-heavy) don't offer it, but links to individual
stories do. And even without an ad blocker active, Reader Mode is
useful to reducing a page to mostly text.

Or CTRL with your mouse wheel, which I use routinely.

As do I. Also, CTRL-plus and CTRL-minus let you go up/down zoom steps, and
CTRL-0 resets the zoom to 1:1.

Thank you. I don't have an issue with huge font size.

As well as other advice, does Linux allow for changing the 'scale' of
display as does Wunderful Windoze (at least 10 and 11)?

e.g. Under Settings > System > Display > Scale and Layout, Win 11
allows for the default/recommended 100% to be increased to three
higher levels: 125%, 150%, and 175%.

I find 125% is a good choice, and I believe Andy Burns uses the same.

This is a function of the GUI, not the Linux kernel. And as you may know,
in Linux distros, the GUI is a separate modular layer, which can be
replaced by any of a range of choices, or removed altogether.

I just checked KDE Plasma on my main machine, and that lets me set scaling
in 5% increments by clicking, but I think I can get down to 1% by typing
in the scale box.

On my laptop, with its smaller screen, I have the scaling set to 125%.

Could you set your monitor to use a lower resolution, with the same aspect
ratio? This seems to work better than using a browser setting.

I like to use a small laptop. The one I have has a default monitor
resolution of 1920*1080. I find the text too small to read easily, so I
have changed the resolution to 1600*900.

Besides going to a lower resolution, changing the scale to a larger size
(say, 125%) may adequately produce larger size without sacrificing the
sharpness of the higher resolution.

In Windows, the scale setting is right next to the resolution setting.
