That just reinforced the point I made, that Free/Open-Source software 
tends to have a much longer life than proprietary stuff.

After all, WordPerfect and WordStar date from about the same era. But they 
are dead software now, only fit for the museum. Whereas LibreOffice, like 
so many other open-source projects from the same era, is alive and well 
and thriving and still being developed.
