The idea of Chinese medicine is trying to prevent people from getting sick.

To cure a disease is the principle of western medicine (not of 
traditional Chinese medicine).

To illustrate the difference I use as example a car.

one paradigm is: careful use and early maintenance

the other principle: careless use and pickup truck to the garage
