Several of the 'excellent' companies are defunct or have went through so many acquisitions their paternity is unknown. Earlier, TI's 'matrix management' was the exemplar of how to structure a company. TI is still around but has had its fiascos. The PC product line was sold to Acer. Relevant to the current climate, there was the Explorer, a LISP approach to AI. https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/1457638 1985 was a summertime for AI; the winter followed. The project should not be confused with the more successful TI-15 Explorer aimed at grades 3-6.
