Wenn man dabei nicht beachtet, den Luftstrom, so wie er z. B. durch den
Netzteillüfter und den Gehäuselüfter generiert wird, vernünftig zu leiten.
Aktuelle Heatpipe-Kühler für CPUs sind ohnehin so hochbeinig, daß ich mich
auf deren Luftstrom zur Kühlung von irgendwelchen anderen Boardkomponenten
nicht verlassen würde. Schau Dir mal exemplarisch den Noctua NH-U9S an,
das ist noch eine moderate Variante. Und demgegenüber das ASUS Prime
B365M-K (auch ein Brot-und-Butter-Board) und wo sich da Chipsatzkühlkörper
und Speicherriegel befinden.

Der Brutal-Gamer mit seinem AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X, ASUS ROG Zenith
Extreme und Nvidia RTX 2080 hat dann wiederum andere Problem als die
mögliche Geräuschentwicklung.

Die Sache mit Motherboard-Kondensatoren, die dicke Backen machen, war vor
10 Jahren mal ein ganz heißes Thema. Seitdem ist mir diesbezüglich genau
gar nichts mehr untergekommen. Sicher reichlich 20 Serverboards von HP und
Dell in den Händen gehabt (meist Xeon-CPUs) und natürlich diverse
Con-/Prosumerware von Fujitsu, Asus, ASRock, Gigabyte, auch diverse
Notebooks von IBM, Lenovo, Toshiba, Asus. Die sind alle an Veraltung
"gestorben" (ein Toshiba Tecra bestätigte als Ausnahe die Regel, da hat
sich die GPU aus ihrem BGA selbst ausgelötet). Meist konnte ich sie durch
Speicherauf-/SSD-Nachrüstung und Linuxinstallation vor einem schäbigen
Ende auf der Elektromüllkippe retten und an Bedürftige verschenken.

Interessanterweise hat man auf dem Monitorsektor die Lektion nicht so
schnell gelernt. Da erlebte ich selbt bei einigermaßen neuen Geräten (Dell
Ultrasharp U2410, Dell 2007FP) noch kaputte Kondensatoren im Netzteil. Die
waren 8-9 Jahre alt.
