so then, according to you, if a car has a badly clogged up air cleaner, 
it's not going the require more accelerator depression than if it had a 
clean air filter? and if the engine oil is too heavy or too low (or 
whatever) causing more friction in the motor, it's not going to require 
more accelerator? and so on. as I said, I'm barely touching the 
accelerator and I'm doing 60k. I looked at the gauges today and I'm 
doing 60k at 1100 rpm, which is just 300 rpm above idle speed. so how 
much accelerator do you think it takes to raise the engine revs by 
300rpm? not much I can tell you. I'm not trying to 'teach grandma to 
suck eggs' here, you're the mechanic (supposedly) not me, I'm just 
telling you that since I had the gearbox oil changed, and put the nulon 
in, I'm needing less accelerator than before for the same road speed. 
and in fact the speedo has confirmed it, since the average fuel has 
dropped from 11.7 litre per 100 klm to 10.6 litre per 100 klm. and one 
more example.. when the car is going downhill you can take your foot 
right off the accelerator, and still do the same speed. so accelerator 
depression is not always in direct relation to road speed.
