I think the best way to find out is to hear from the actual
users of those groups instead of just speculating here. That
is why I keep asking for this RfD to be crossposted to those
groups.

A few examples can be found by looking back through earlier
posts in this group. For example, removing
rec.arts.comics.reviews and rec.arts.comics.info did not
make rec.arts.comics any more active.
I can not speak for all of them, but sometimes people
crosspost precisely because the groups have different
audiences or slightly different focuses.
