Thanks for the pointer, Lars.

I logged into Twenex and found it there, as "uns:gnuemacs.exe".
Unfortuately, when I tried to edit a file with it I got a channel error
(?!) and it quit.

But that motivated me to go back to my own installations and I found it
there:

$vdir <root.usr.bin>gnu*

    TOPS20:<ROOT.USR.BIN>
  GNUEMACS.EXE.1;P777752 395 808960(9) 20-Jan-97 13:50:34 ALDERSON
  GNUTAR.EXE.1;P777752 151 309248(9) 20-Jan-97 14:05:58 ALDERSON

I think it was one of Mark's additions when he created Panda, since it
came as part of that distribution, but clearly it was created by Rich.

AND IT WORKS! And with term set to vt125, it knows arrow keys!!!

It's a little quirky when it starts up: very slow initialization, and I
have to type ^C to get it to paint the screen, but it's usable.

So another major step to reconstructing a usable system.

Thanks!!!

David
