If yo've got Netfetch on the icon bar then Menu over it,  click Choices,
click Emailboxes, select the email box you want to alter (probably you've
only got one), click Edit, click Oversize.  

Then select Ask before fetching... and type in the maximum size you are
willing to accept.  I've got 8000 kbytes as that seems to cover all but the
most eager photo sender and a size that Pluto is happy with.  Finally click
Change and that's it.

Any larger emails can still be downloaded if you want. you will be asked.
or can be left on the server for exploration by webmail.
