Viel steht da ja nicht insbesonders nichts ueber Leistungsfaehigkeit und Stromverbrauch.

Ich erinnere mich dass es damals Workstations "Indigo"  gab die hatten 
einen Signalsprozessor in ihrem Audioteil:

Wie komplexe Filter kann man damit bauen ?
Die AD und DA Wandler waren 16Bit, das ist deutlich weniger Dynamic Range als
man mit Analog Elektronik damals hinbekam.
Ich habe damals aber die CPU verwendet fuer Audioprogramme, weil ich mich
damit besser auskannte und Echtzeit nicht erforderlich war.
