After reading through a few texts on that, I'm unsure what 'concepts'
are actually supposed to be good for[*] but I don't quite understand the
above, either.
?
[*] Java needs explicit specification of generics type argument
properties because the Java compiler essentially fakes parametrized
classes: The compiled code will just end up using Object. Because of
this, 'generic' methods can't invoke methods belonging to classes used
to 'instantiate' a generic class unless more information about the
types which will are supposed to be used with a generic is supplied.
But that's not an issue for C++ templates.

I remember how OOP was not long ago being extolled as such a wonderful
addition to C. Outside of 'freaks lost in wonderland' scenarios, ie,
'certain open source projects' [I won't name here], I've yet to see
someone using it for something else than creating structs whose members
are not publically accessible by default but 1:1 exposed via 'get' and
'set' methods, ie, the usual way to use a class seems to be
Cupboard cupoard = new Cupboard();
cupboard.setDrawer0(11);
cupboard.setDrawer1("hippopotamus on toast");
cupboard.setDrawer2(-1385);
cupboard.setTop("vase of flowers");
There are even OO-systems for Perl which abolish the notion of a
'constructor' altogether as ("Clearly!"), constructors are totally
useless, see example above.

'auto' doesn't do 'dynamic typing', it just informs the compiler that
the type of 'something on the left' is supposed to be the same as the
type of 'the something on the right'.
