I took a few philosophy classes just for fun. My first was the 101 class. It
was a big lecture hall: the instructor walked in, stood silent for a minute,
and said as his first words: "Everyone should think for themselves!"

I raised my hand. He looked a bit annoyed to be honest (in a class of 100+
you generally do not, but, hey, I did). Then he called on me and I asked,
"Shouldn't that be my choice?"

He stood there for a couple of minutes, thinking, and then finally agreed it
was our choice. He had been teaching that class for over a decade and
started the same way each time and nobody had ever questioned that
statement. 

Yeah, I can be a pain in the ass at times (and, yes, I know those who troll
me will pull that quote out of context!)

Also had fun in another philosophy class focused on debate and logical
fallacies. We had a lot of fun even though we disagreed. He invited me back
as a guest speaker to debate his class the next semester but I had a class
at the same time and could not make it.

I have set up a number of small networks and the systems that run on them
for small and medium sized schools but never really worked much with high
end stuff. My focus tends to be on getting the most out of low end and less
expensive equipment.

I was the sysop for InterAct which served one of the largest school
districts (about 200 schools at the time) and United Way (about 100 agencies
at the time)... running an FirstClass server. That was many years ago
though. Also handled the help desk... and training. It was a wee bit insane
but I learned a lot when I was there.
