A decade ago!  So sorry!  I've been using Menu Meters on several Macs 
since early 2008 and other than the settings needing to be redone a few 
times (and that was in the previous decade, not this one) I've had zero 
issues.

I've found all that to be more distraction than useful of late.  On my 
previous iMac it was marginally useful.  On this one pretty useless.  A 
visual of CPU load and ethernet load seem to be the only things worth 
monitoring.  (Actually on the i7QuadC not even CPU, on my SO's new MBA, 
perhaps).

Note I have a widget to occasionally look at the amount of storage left 
on the 5 physical drives that are always attached - but even then I 
don't look at that much.  When there's less than 100 GB on a drive I'll 
order a larger one.

(I may even have an iStat license but I'm not sure anymore!  That would 
date from ~2008/2009).
