Wouldn't that be to start deleting messages?

More simply, don't open Eudora!

I've been done with POP for years, but I recall a small file in Netscape 
that could get corrupted and it would essentially tell the POP server to 
download everything. Deleting it and then letting the download complete 
cured it.
