Screen shots aren't photos, and as a result often won't show graphics
hardware malfunctions. It's easy enough to take a photo of the screen
with a camera and post it.

It sounds like your graphics driver or hardware may be malfunctioning. 

What model and year MacBook Pro is this? 

Have you checked to see if it is covered by Apple?:
