OS X includes

	Reminders

	Calendar

Will both do it.  I'd tend to the former rather than the later for this 
purpose.  (I use it to make sure I take out the trash, recycling each 
week; pay various bills, cancel various contracts, ...)

In both cases, properly sync'd, the reminder will also sound on your 
iPhone, iPad, iPod, Watch if you're so equipped.
