Thank you for belaboring a distinction without a difference. For me,
Java is a utility that allows me to run software written in the Java
programming language. OK?

My mistake. I sometimes forget about those ideologues who are willing
to cut off their noses to spite their faces. The software that I run
under Javascript is important to my astrophotography and astrometry
work and I'm not going to stop using it on ideological grounds.

Ah, well. My browsers allow me to disable Javascript, so where's the
beef? I sometimes enable it, however, because I also need to run
on-line Java applets from time to time.
