I looked on ebay in my country for one of these, hoping to find a hexcore CPU, but there were none. Tons of sellers with 990X at silly prices. Also older stuff like Core 2, Pentium 4, even K6-3. So did Intel make hardly any of this model?

Anyway the 970 seems to be not common. I found a local computer shop that had some leftover, but they wanted 499 A$ (= 520 US$) for it. I can get a Phenom sixpack with mainboard and RAM for less that that.

I am VERY happy with my 950s, I run as virtual hosting servers, not games, one is o/c (curiosity, not need for speed), one stock. Both dead stable.
