   Of course ... but that's one of the first adjustments I'd
   make anyway - and it's not too hard, just takes a minute.
   I've no expectations of an instant plug-n-play xfer from
   a VM ... I just don't want it to be TORTURE.

   I still like to use LABELED disks/partitions - and Linux
   can find and properly adjust to those easier than those
   damned UUIDs. LABELs are usually the easiest way to get
   external USB drives to always mount to where you expect
   also, no matter where you plug 'em in. They'll always
   mount to /media/username/diskname (NOW, but not always
   historically as best I recall).

   Ideally you xfer to a new partition on a machine that already has
   at least one, even if very basic, distro on it. THEN you can use
   that original distro as the tool to make some of those fine
   adjustments to what you just brought over from VM. Then update-grub
   and reset the boot order.
