Got one home customer on Linux after he watched a congressional
hearing on viruses.  He does a lot of financial stuff and
he is scared to death of Windows (not an unfounded fear).
He bought a Windows laptop to run the other things he was missing.

Most of my home customers are home office customers.  So the
Windows curse set in: Linux does not have the business application
base.  No Quick Books, no Adobe Suite, no CCH and on and on.
And it has to be what everyone else is using as they want any
accountant to be able to work on their stuff, etc..  And they
do have a point.  Even if they are not stuck with Windows
software, they still want the option to added it at a later
date.  (Forget Virtual Machines, they are way over the heads
of most home customers.)

The remaining Home customers all have kids.  Kids "must" have
their iTunes or they melt down.  Kids must have Word to write
their papers for school.  (Yes, Word almost runs poorly under
Wine, but just try and print an envelope.)  And everyone
deservedly puts their nose up at Open Office. (Libre Office
is in progress of fixing this.  I have an EIGHT year old bug
in OO that OO refuses to fix.)

And some want to synchronize their iPhones.

I am really kind of screwed on the home computer front.  I really
thought I'd score with Linux when folks got a load of Vista, but
the lack of (identical) application blocked any transition
away from Windows.  (And, if you Linux heads have never had
to work on Vista, you are living sheltered lives.  If you
have never almost passed out, okay not really, waiting for
a Vista machine to boot up ...)

Need some more business clients.
