The major issue with ps/2 is that it's not really hotplug, may work if you restart xorg, sadly not easy to get a ISA USB card nowadays, but if OP has PCI slots in his machine there should still be some PCI USB cards on ebay, so he would be able to take a step into to the "future". -- //Aho
